POSTERS

How do the poster sessions work? All your answers should be on the poster page. Portrait style 36” x 48”, pins will be provided, please be at your poster during your assigned poster presentation to be eligible to win one of the many poster prizes.

Where do I find complete poster abstracts? Will they be in the program? The printed program contains the titles and presenting author of all poster and oral abstracts. It also has information regarding the schedule, exhibitors, social events, and plenary speakers. All abstracts (oral and poster) have been loaded onto the USB drive distributed at check-in.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

What do I do with my slides before I give an oral presentation? Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the session in which you will be speaking to load your slides onto the computer being used in each ballroom. One of our friendly student volunteers will be on hand to assist you with loading them onto the computer before the session begins.

Should I bring my own laser pointer? Laser pointers/slide advancers will be provided in each ballroom as well as wireless microphones for each speaker.

AFTER HOURS

What do I do once the conferences are over each day?

We have a variety of social events planned for conference attendees including the banquet on Wednesday, May 15th at Joe T. Garcia’s and a VUV happy hour on Thursday at the Flying Saucer. Tickets for the banquet can still be purchased online or as at the conference information desk.

Downtown Ft. Worth is very safe and has a wide array of activities, restaurants, bars, and shopping all within safe walking distance of the hotel. Check out the Ft. Worth Visitor’s Bureau website for more ideas. The Hilton is located in downtown Ft. Worth with lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping and just blocks from the heart of the city, Sundance Square.

How can I get around town? Molly the Trolley is a FREE shuttle service that makes a loop around downtown Ft. Worth. Molly stops at the Hilton just outside the lobby doors by the the Starbucks. Download Molly’s map HERE.

Where are all the cowboys? The Stockyards and Billy Bob’s.

The Stockyard’s are a historic sight north of downtown easily accessible by a 7 minute taxi/Uber ride. Experience a cattle drive where cowboys run the Ft. Worth Herd (our very own herd of Texas longhorns) right through the middle of town. It happens twice every day at 11:30 AM & 4:00 PM on Exchange Avenue.

Billy Bob’s Texas is the world’s largest honky tonk (cowboy bar and dance hall) that features live music almost every night of the week, pool tables, dancing. On the weekends, it also serves as a venue for larger concerts.

Want to see a rodeo? There is an indoor rodeo every Friday and Saturday night in the Stockyards called the Stockyards Championship Rodeo. General admission tickets are $20 and well worth it.
